Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Lecture Summarizera ("we") collects through AI Study Workspace, why, and your rights. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
1. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure one-way hash, never in readable form).
- Lecture content: recordings and files you upload, YouTube links you submit, and the transcripts, notes, flashcards, quizzes and chat questions created from them.
- Payments: the package bought, amount, date and Paystack reference. Card and bank details go directly to Paystack and never reach us.
- Technical data: your IP address and basic request logs, used for security and to stop abuse.
2. Why we use it (and the legal basis)
- To provide the Service you signed up for: account, transcription, notes and history (performance of our contract with you).
- To process payments and keep financial records (contract and legal obligation).
- To keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interest).
- To email you about your account, such as password resets (contract). We do not send marketing without your consent.
3. Who processes it for us
- OpenAI and Groq: transcription and AI notes. They receive the lecture audio or text only to produce the result.
- Paystack: payments.
- Our hosting provider: stores the app and database.
Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. We use them only for the purposes above and rely on their contractual data-protection commitments. We never sell your personal data.
4. How long we keep it
- Uploaded and recorded audio files are deleted as soon as they have been transcribed (and within 24 hours in any case).
- Transcripts and notes stay in your history until you delete them or your account.
- Payment records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting.
5. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, download or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, and withdraw consent. You can delete individual lectures, or your whole account, from inside the app. For anything else, email cha4prince@gmail.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
6. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, private per-user storage, and limits on login attempts. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you notice anything suspicious.
7. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Children
The Service is meant for students aged 16 and over. If you are younger, use it only with a parent or guardian's permission.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in an important way, we will tell you in the app or by email.
